- Mixing up Kyiv city and Kyiv region. The city is 44 and the surrounding region is 45.
- Assuming a mobile code such as 067 or 050 tells you the network. Mobile numbers can be ported between networks.
- Forgetting daylight saving. Most of Ukraine is UTC+3 from the last Sunday of March to the last Sunday of October and UTC+2 the rest of the year.
- Your mobile plan may block international calls, or need extra credit for them. A phone card avoids this, because you dial an Australian access number first.
- On a phone card, the overseas number goes in after the access number and PIN, and ends with #.
